Bio

 

Nicole was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1968.

Since 05 she has been an Assistant Professor at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Her education includes a bachelor of arts from IU in 1991, under Randy Long, and her first MFA from the University of Michigan while studying under Hiroko and Gene Sato-Pijanowski. Nicole received her second MFA while on a Fulbright Scholarship to Australia where she was fortunate to study with Carlier Makigawa at RMIT University in Melbourne.  In 2004 Nicole completed her Ph.D. in Fine Arts, at RMIT University under the guidance of Dr. Robert Baines. 


Recent Fellowships, Grants Awards include; a 08-10 Institute for Digital Arts and Humanities Fellowship, and an 08 residency at the American Academy in Rome in Italy for Visiting Artist & Scholars. In 07 she received an International Projects + Activities Grant and in 06 she was awarded a New Perspectives Grant as well as a New Frontiers Grant.


Nicole has had 5 solo exhibitions and participated in over 70 invitational/juried exhibitions in the USA, Europe, Asia + Australia. She has presented over 20 lectures on her work + and has had papers accepted to present at conferences in the UK, Australia, China, + the USA. Her work is published in over 30 of books, catalogues + websites, and her two solo catalogues, Personal Objects : Personal Spaces Catalogue printed in 07, and her self titled catalogue, Nicole Jacquard, from 05, are both available through Charon Kransen Arts.
